DESCRIPTION: ...The Flood Warning is extended for the following rivers in Illinois... Big Muddy River near Plumfield affecting Williamson and Franklin Counties. Big Muddy River near Murphysboro affecting Jackson County. .A couple more rounds of moderate to heavy rain can be expected into the weekend. The rest of the event rainfall has been incorporated into the river forecast. The Big Muddy River has started to rise and crests are expected over the next week. Now is the time to prepare for flooding. * WHAT...Major flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Big Muddy River near Murphysboro. * WHEN...From late Saturday night until further notice. * IMPACTS...At 36.0 feet, Damage begins to property near Shoemaker Drive in Murphysboro. Evacuations may be needed to parts of a mobile home park. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 11:00 AM CDT Friday the stage was 13.3 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage early Sunday morning and continue rising to a crest of 36.1 feet early Thursday morning. - Flood stage is 22.0 feet.

INSTRUCTION: Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding. Caution is urged when walking near riverbanks. Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive cars through flooded areas. Additional information is available at www.weather.gov.

Cirrocumulus clouds form at high altitudes (usually around 5 km) and have distinguishing characteristics displayed in a fine layer of small cloud patches. These small cloud patches are sometimes referred to as "cloudlets" in relation to the whole cloud formation.

Cirrocumulus clouds are formed from ice crystals and water droplets. Often, the water droplets in the cloud freeze into ice crystals and the cloud becomes a cirrostratus cloud. Because of this common occurrence, cirrocumulus cloud formations generally pass rapidly.
