AREAS AFFECTED: Dearborn, IN; Franklin, IN; Ripley, IN

DESCRIPTION: * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...The following counties, in southeast Indiana, Dearborn, Franklin and Ripley. * WHEN...Until 800 AM EST Thursday. * IMPACTS...Streams continue to rise due to excess runoff from earlier rainfall. Low-water crossings are inundated with water and may not be passable. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 130 AM EST, local law enforcement reported flooding in the warned area. Between 1.5 and 3 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1 inch are possible. - Some locations that may experience flooding include... Batesville, Brookville, Osgood, Oldenburg, Sunman, St. Leon, Napoleon, Cedar Grove, Mount Carmel, Interstate 74 at State Route 101, Penntown, Lawrenceville, Saint Peter, Huntersville, Ballstown, New Trenton, Sharptown, Rockdale and Otter Village.

INSTRUCTION: Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding. Cirrocumulus Clouds Next Topic: Cirrostratus Clouds

Cirrocumulus clouds form at high altitudes (usually around 5 km) and have distinguishing characteristics displayed in a fine layer of small cloud patches. These small cloud patches are sometimes referred to as "cloudlets" in relation to the whole cloud formation.

Cirrocumulus clouds are formed from ice crystals and water droplets. Often, the water droplets in the cloud freeze into ice crystals and the cloud becomes a cirrostratus cloud. Because of this common occurrence, cirrocumulus cloud formations generally pass rapidly.
