AREAS AFFECTED: Matagorda Islands; Brazoria Islands; Galveston Island; Bolivar Peninsula
DESCRIPTION: * WHAT...High risk of rip currents. Minor coastal flooding possible around high tides cycles through Saturday. * WHERE...Gulf-facing beaches, including the Matagorda Peninsula, Brazoria County beaches, Galveston Island and the Bolivar Peninsula. * WHEN...Through Sunday afternoon. * IMPACTS...Rip currents can sweep even the best swimmers away from shore into deeper water. Elevated tides could lead to minor flooding of beaches, lots, parks, and roads with only isolated road closures possible. This includes the lowest more- prone spots like HWY 87/124 along the Bolivar Peninsula, Western Galveston Island, Bluewater Highway and Surfside.
INSTRUCTION: Remain out of the water to avoid hazardous swimming conditions.

Fog is technically a type of stratus cloud, which lies along the
ground and obscures visibility.
It is usually created when humidity in the air condenses into tiny water droplets.
Because of this, some places are more prone to foggy weather, such as regions
close to a body of water.
Fog is similar to mist; both are the appearance of water droplets suspended in
the air, but fog is the term applied to the condition when visibility is less than 1 km.
